The Lafayette City-Parish Administration is finalizing the negotiation of a contract and a scope of work for the planning services of Wallace Roberts & Todd to complete a Comprehensive Plan for the parish.

SURVEY: LUS and LCG Public Works have collaborated to get a clearer understanding of how to better assist the Lafayette community's outdoor watering needs. They are requesting Lafayette residents take a 5-minute survey that will ask questions about their outdoor watering activities. The survey will allow LUS and Public Works to determine the interest level of participants in using a rain barrel as a method for their outdoor watering.  (Click here for Survey)

Mike LeBlanc, AICP, Planning Manager of Special Projects
 
Mike is a planner employed by the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Mike's primary responsibility is developing aspects of the Drainage Plan in conjunction with the Public Works Department. Mike is active in the tracking and collection of demographic data used for LINC planning work.

Bernadette Fisher, Planner I
 
Bernadette's primary responsibility is to facilitate the neighborhood planning efforts and to provide an overview of planning-related problems and opportunities. She also works to initiate and carryout studies for specific neighborhoods, while acting as a liaison between community groups, governmental agencies, and elected officials in developing effective neighborhood plans. Bernadette will ensure citizen participation to enable the residents to become informed about public issues and to transmit information about community needs and desires.

Cathie Gilbert, Planner II
 
Cathie's primary responsibility is the collaboration of the LINC Comprehensive Master Plan from the LINC Citizen's Committee, to the Planning Commission, to LCG Council, and finally to the LINC Implementation Committee. In addition, Cathie facilitates the Freetown - Port Rico and the McComb/Veazey Coteries.

Cecilia Gayle, Planner II
 
Cecilia's primary responsibility is landscaping, drainage mitigation, and water quality in conjunction with the Public Works Department. Cecilia is a landscape architect and thereby assists in a number of efforts throughout the elements of the LINC Comprehensive Master Plan. These efforts include but are not limited to drainage and best management practices, expanding the tree canopy, landscaping in transportation corridors, and buffering conflicting land uses. Cecilia also assists the LINC Citizen Committee with their efforts with Drainage, Conservation and the Environment, and Parks and Recreation LINC elements.

Johnny Orgeron, Planner II
 
Johnny's primary responsibility is site planning and urban design. Johnny has an architecture degree and contributes to performance based efforts in the Land Use Element and coordinates design efforts in neighborhood planning. Johnny facilitates one of the LINC neighborhood coteries for La Place neighborhood. Johnny's main duties are as a planner with the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
