Implementation

The City-Parish Planning Commission will be responsible for coordinating the entire plan in conjunction with the Resource Committee Members (See Committee Makeup), who will function as "Lead Agencies" to implement the plan. The Lead Agencies will be assigned strategies (Action Items) in relation to the plan’s 12 Elements. The Planning Commission also will serve as a Lead Agency for a number of Action Items.

The Planning Commission’s Comprehensive Plan efforts will be guided by a Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee (CPIC). The CPIC will be formed to ensure that the broadest possible input and coordination among all levels of government occur. Thus, the CPIC will include members from both administrative and legislative branches of government and the public. The CPIC will be given the responsibility of reviewing and evaluating the Comprehensive Plan and, when necessary, making recommendations for plan revisions to the Planning Commission and City-Parish Council.
